UFO / Glenn Hughes
Waiting for the new Ufo CD, after the - once again- split with Michael Schenker, I was very pleased to read that Jason Bonham will take the drum part. As a Zeppelin Fan, who sadly has never seen the father performing live, I was very exicted to see at least the son playing live. And with one of my other favourite bands: UFO. The show started a 15 minutes early and Uli Jon Roth entered the stage with just a keyboarder at his side. They played a very nice and good set of some classic songs (Vivaldis four seasons) and at the end of their set they played some rock classics. After the usual break, during which the soundboard guy played us a tape with Led Zep covers, Ufo entered the stage and started a very good performance. It is obvious that Vinnie Moore and John Bonham are good for the band. They all seem to have much more fun than the last time I saw them. Although playing a lot of songs of their new album, nearly none of the classics was missing. They could have played some more from the brilliant 'Walk on water' album, but you cannot get everything you want. After nearly two hours a very good rock concert was over. |
