Axxis - M3 Classic Whitesnake - Saxon - Saga
Having only a good Whitesnake concert in mind I was very surprised when I read that the concert would be a full festival with Saxon and Saga. We arrived just after Axxis had finished. I was told that they were very good. Whitesnake (M3) was as good as always. Brilliant musicians and of course brilliant songs. The singer is a very good frontman and does not have to hide behind David Coverdale. The gig was only too short. Only one hour with no encore. After that the main Act (in the eyes of the crowd) of the evening entered the stage for a powerful one and a half hour set of old Saxon classics mixed with a few new songs. Biff entertained the crowd and they played nearly all of there hits (even if I missed 747 - Strangers in the night). After Saxon left the stage a lot of people left the arena. So when Saga started at midnight there weren't too many people left. For me the first 30 minutes of Saga were very good but after that I got a little bored by the long keyboard parts which sounded all the same. A lot of people were leaving. So that at the end after 90 minutes the hall was nearly empty. It was a very good festival with good bands. Maybe the mix with Saxon and Saga wasn't to clever. |
